Our Clothing Donations Continues

Clothing DonationsIt has been well over a year since we changed collecting clothing and food from a November-December activity to a year long endeavor.  The generosity of our membership is amazing.  We are helping to clothe and feed area residents who would otherwise go without.  Thank you so much for making our clothing and food donation drives such a success.  Our continued aid to charities within Fairfax City and Fairfax County is really appreciated.

With respect to clothing, we continue to donate to Yesterdays Rose in Fairfax City and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries of Fairfax County with our clothing donations.  In June 2010, we donated over two hundred items of clothing to Western Fairfax.  We will continue to communicate with Yesterdays Rose to identify their clothing needs.

The lodge is still giving out chip cards to be used at any of the Free Texas Hold’em regular season tournaments on Sunday, Tuesday, or Friday.  A chip card is given for two articles of clothing or one food item.  A card can be exchanged for an extra thousand in chips.

Again, thank you for your continuous generosity and assisting us in giving back to our community!

Our Daily Bread

Update April 21, 2010: We donated 130.15 lbs of food to Our Daily Bread today.

Our Daily BreadOn November 19, 2009, Our Daily Bread celebrated 25 years of serving the Fairfax County area.  This is a great group that helps families and individuals in the Fairfax area to be come self-sufficient.  With out our help and others like us, Our Daily Bread would not be able to help so many families in need.

We chose Our Daily Bread for the good work they do each day.  Our Daily Bread has many outreach programs.  They even manage to make food deliveries to those in need during the week and on the weekends.  They are currently in need of certain items.  To see a list of most needed items please click here!

We recently made another donation of non-perishable food items.  On April 1, 2010, we donated 99.7 pounds of food worth $158.52 dollars. We want to thank our very generous members for their continued support of our food donation program.  We would also like to thank Wendy Barboza for her help in dropping off the food items.  Wendy your help is really appreciated!
