WFCM homelessness prevention efforts assist individuals and families who are struggling in the affordable housing crisis to locate a new home or maintain the housing they have. The ultimate goal is to help them avoid the pain and disruption of homelessness. There are many reasons individuals end up homeless. It often begins with poverty and is compounded by job loss, health conditions, divorce, physical abuse, low wages, the shortage of housing, high rents and lack of independent living skills. WFCM homelessness prevention services include budgeting assistance, food, clothing, transportation to medical services, household necessities, and referral to other social service providers.
