The Centreville Moose has a long and distinguished history of donating and volunteering in our community.  We follow the Moose Community Service Program set forth by Moose International.  It calls for capable and inspired leadership in aiding our communities in accordance with the best practices set in the Moose Six-Point Community Service Program.

Since our lodge was created, we have donated and volunteered big and small.  From our smallest donations of giving to local high schools for a prom event, or volunteering to help "Clean Fairfax" clean our city streets, to our large donations like a vehicle to teach children and adults about fire safety to the City of Fairfax, we continue to work hard for the community in which we are apart.

Since we started this endeavor back in 1971, we have donated more than $316,989 dollars back to the community.

The Moose Community Service Six-Point program has been expanded over the years and now includes:

Mooseheart and Moosehaven: Our charity cares and maintains two sizeable communities for our youth and seniors. Youth Awareness: We contribute to keeping our youth knowledgeable about what is going on in society. By listening and talking with our young, we impart our knowledge and understanding of what they are going though in the world. We know that this knowledge transfer helps them make better decisions now and throughout their lives.  We help support a yearly Moose Association Student Congresses throughout the United States and Canada.  For more information see the Youth Awarness section of this site.

Scouting, Tommy Moose, and Safe Surfing: We aid and contribute to different partners like Scouting and Safe Surfing. We also make donations to local area police departments, fire departments, and paramedic and ambulance squads with Tommy Moose and other contributions. Tommy Moose is a plush stuffed animal that is given by first responders to children to comfort them in sudden overwhelming situations. These situations could be an auto accident, house fire, weather disaster, or other catastrophic event.

Moose Alert, Food and Shelter: Our communities in a crisis situation can benefit from Moose Alert Centers. A Moose Alert Center is a place where local law enforcement and public safety personnel can utilize the the resources of a lodge and membership during a crisis situation. This program is still in its infancy and will be expanded in the future.

Local Volunteer Services: We actively support our local community agencies though donations and volunteering. We routinely give to our schools, emergency first responders, community hospitals, local drug and alcohol addiction recovery groups, food and clothing pantries. We always try to do more each year. We are constantly re-evaluating the needs of our community so our members can make a lasting difference in the lives we touch.

Youth Sports, Special Olympics: We actively support all our children in sports activities. By supporting our children in all sports activities, we believe this will provide them the tools and social skills to go out and win all of life's challenges. Our lodge does this though donations to area sports teams and the Virginia Special Olympics organization.

The Moose Community Service program of today and for the next century challenges people to become volunteers through membership in the Moose. It calls for capable and inspired leadership and for a generous giving of thought, effort and time according to the Moose Six-Point Community Service Program. Counting hours worked, miles driven and dollars donated, the Moose contribute between $70 million and $100 million worth of service every year to communities throughout the U.S., Canada and Great Britain.
