Centreville Moose Women of the MooseDear Co-Workers,

This will be my final Senior Regent message....cannot believe a year has gone by already.  It has been an honor to have served as your Senior Regent.  So much has gone on this past year at the Lodge.  Working with LOOM and the Board of WOTM has been quite exciting and rewarding.  I would like to thank the Board of WOTM for all their support namely, Mary Amsden, Ginny McClung, Linda K Hunter, and Carolyn Shackelford...they are awesome women!

I have personally enjoyed meeting so many wonderful and compassionate folks this past year....so many willing to donate their time to the charitable functions of the Lodge.  We are most fortunate to have these folks as co-workers.

I wish our new Senior Regent, Emily Paul, much success.  I know she starts her year with all the energy and enthusiasm we could hope for our Lodge.  She will be a wonderful leader for WOTM and I know you all will support her as you did me.   One way to show your support would be to attend the WOTM meetings...they are informative and fun.  We are always looking for ideas to improve or expand our services to the community.

WOTM is sponsoring a FLEA MARKET the first Saturday in May in the parking lot at the Lodge from 10 to 2.  We will be accepting donations on Thursday, May 3 thru Saturday, May 5.  What a great opportunity to clean out those closets and garages.  Anything that does not sell will be donated to a local charity.  So come and join us...either to sell or buy.

I wish you all a safe and fun summer and hope to see you all at the Lodge.

Centreville Moose Senior Regent MessageI’ve always been interested in doing more for my community, and since joining our lodge just over a year ago I have had so many opportunities to do just that. I have been so impressed by everything we do here, when it was suggested to me to run for Senior Regent, I didn’t hesitate. I am very excited for all the wonderful things we are planning, and I am confident that this is going to be a very fun, productive, and rewarding year. I want to thank all the chapter members who elected me as Senior Regent. I am so very honored by your faith in my abilities to hold this high office. However, I can’t do it alone. I am very fortunate and blessed to have an amazing group of women as my coworkers and cannot thank them enough for taking me under their wings. With a dedicated and enthusiastic team like ours, this is bound to be the best year yet!

I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage members to come and participate in our meetings held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 7pm. It’s a great chance to connect with other Women of the Moose and become informed and involved with the happenings and goings on in our lodge. We would love to see you and welcome any ideas and input you have. Like I said, we can’t do this alone!

Feel free to contact any of your board of officers with news, ideas, and suggestions! I look forward to an awesome year!

Senior Regents Message Centreville MooseDear Co-Workers,

We are in the closing months of WOTM 1674 Board and Committee Chairperson regime.  Our Elections are fast approaching.  Please let the Board know as soon as possible if you are interested in submitting your name for a Board position.  Also there will be many Chairperson positions open.

On another note, we had four co-workers (Mary Amsden, Ginny McClung, Linda K. Hunter, and Patti Green-Shupp) attend the Mid-Year conference which was held in Norfolk.  Everyone had a great time.  Judy Sissons, Director of Operations, was the guest speaker and gave a very motivating talk.  You would be surprised at what you can learn by attending these conferences and meeting so many wonderful co-workers from other Lodges around the State.

Moose International has announced their remaining Membership Campaign Mission for the 4th Qtr of the Moose Year.  Every application submitted from Feb 1-April 30 will be entered into a drawing to win a home entertainment system.  This is in addition to free years dues for sponsoring 2 members for the year.  Unfortunately, this is only available for the LOOM members.

We have had many new WOTM members and you may notice we have also had many transfers to Centreville....we are definitely the ‘fun’ Lodge.  Please give a warm welcome to the following new members when you see them at the lodge:

Alina DeMeritt - sponsored by Shari Myers
Kristy Smith - sponsored by Karen Delancey
Manju Mallin - sponsored by Michelle Peterson
Angela Bartley - sponsored by Nancy Petty
Patricia Nagorske = sponsored by Nadine Hodges
Tricia Nelson - sponsored by Linda Kaye Hunter
Kathy Vasapoli - sponsored by Patricia Green-Shupp
Pamela Chapman - sponsored by Betty Caton
Barbara Purdy - sponsored by Elisa O’Brien
Katherine Whitefield - sponsored by Doreen Wallace (Manassas)

Don’t forget the chapter co-workers cook and serve dinners on the 2nd Friday of every month....we can always use some additional help....cooking or serving or cleaning up, or even coming up with ideas of what types of dinners to do. This is a WOTM function.

As you may have seen in another more-detailed article, we will be celebrating Linda K. Hunter’s Green Cap.  This event will be held on March 17 from 2 to 4...come join us to congratulate Linda for all her hard work.

Looking forward, we will be having the Kids Easter Party on Saturday, March 31 from 1 to 3.  Sign- up sheet will be in the Social Quarters soon.  Anyone can come and help this fun day.

If you haven’t been to the Lodge recently, you have missed the beautiful new bar that has been built by Lodge volunteers in the back hall room.  What a difference this will make for the functions held in the back hall.  Thanks to all the guys who worked so hard on this project.  In fact there are many new improvements around the Lodge...we are really looking good!!!

Happy St. Patrick’s to you all....hope to see you on the 17th....be well and be safe.
