Last updated: 1/11/2012 6:14pm EST - Sad to report, Dave is out!  He went all in on King Jack against a pair of tens.  On the flop there was a ten!  Dave is out of the tournament at 19th place! Congratulations to all that played!

The Centerville Moose had 17 players in this year’s Moose International Texas Hold’Em Tournament. Here are the final four players from left to right Scott Noteboom, Maria Horton, Garrett Awkard, and Dave Gledhill. Congratulation to all Moose players that played in this year’s tournament. On January 9, 2012, the Moose International Las Vegas Texas Hold’Em Tournament started as planned with a much bigger group of poker players this year. With a field of 814 players, some new and some veteran, the words shuffle up and deal was said. Our lodge is well represented in this year’s tournament.

We will be posting new information to this article as results come in. Please, stay tuned! Here is a list of our players for this years tournament!

Update: Our lodge had the largest number of members attending this years tournament of any other lodge.  Congratulations to the Women of the Moose Chapter #1674 for having the largest number of ladies from one chapter at the tournament!

The Centreville Moose Lodge donates Tommy Moose to Fire Station 441 in memory of Teddy Pendergrass. On Sunday, November 6, 2011, in loving memory of Fire Fighter Horace Christopher “Chris” "Teddy" Pendergrass, the Centreville Moose Lodge donated 2 dozen Tommy Moose to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department - Fire Station 441.  It was an honor to make this donation in his memory due to his 21 years of service to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and his Army service in support of our country.  As you may know, Teddy passed away suddenly while on duty as a first responder on Oct. 22, 2011.  Teddy we will always remember you as a gentle giant with a heart of gold!  Click on photo for larger image!

Update Address Print
Written by Dan Sullivan

Please Update your AddressMany people move every few years or sometimes more often.  The problem is when they move they need to notify us about their address change.  It is not easy to remember to notify us when you move.  In addition, sometimes it takes more than a single notification, because your request falls through the cracks.  Yes, one could pay the post office service to forward their address, but this is a temporary solution.

This New Year will bring many changes.  The postal service is changing their policies on bulk mail service. For this reason, we need you to make sure your address is up-to-date with the lodge and Moose International.  Have you missed a newsletter recently?  Have you seen a yellow tag on the newsletter?  If the newsletter made it to you because of a forward situation, it costs the lodge more money.  It is no longer considered bulk mail when it is forwarded to you.  We need to contain spending coming into the New Year.  We could really use your help in the saving money department.

We ask that you take a few moments to either send us an update through our contact us section of the website, check and update your address with Moose International’s site, or just leave us a card at the lodge in either the LOOM or WOTM’s boxes at the lodge with your new address.  This little update will save the lodge money at a time when we need every cent.  It will also help our community, because we will have more to work with when it comes to community donations.  Thanks for all your help!
