Here’s why we ask you to … Learn about elections

Some new (or veteran!) members assume that they’ll see a notice posted calling for Lodge officer nominations in plenty of time to get on the ballot. But that’s not required, and as a result, too many potential leaders may miss their chance. Read this now, and you won’t!
By Jerry O’Connor Assistant General Governor
Why do we elect Lodge officers? The answer may seem obvious – to provide direction and leadership for the Lodge and its facility (the latter through their service as the House Committee). However, it’s also a legal requirement: every Lodge is incorporated in the state or province in which it is located, and all those jurisdictions require the election of corporate officers.
The Centreville Moose Bowling League would like to congratulate Art Walker for bowling a perfect 300! Art is only the second bowler to roll a perfect game since our league began over 25+ years ago. Way to go Art.
Our league bowls every Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m. at the Chantilly Bowl America. Come on out and cheer on your fellow Moose brothers and sisters.

As the last troops leave Iraq, after nine years of war, our lodge would like to say thank you for all your sacrifices for our country. Here is a big thank you from our lodge.
With all the members of our armed forces coming home from Iraq, there is bound to be a few that will be coming home to our area. We invite our membership to reach out to these warriors. Please invite them to visit our lodge. We would be honored to have a visit or possibly a new member from our returning veterans. Please invite them to see what our lodge is all about!
