One of the basic precepts of the Loyal Order of Moose is that "no institution that labors for self and self alone can remain great and mighty, and serve posterity."
You may be a guardian (or may know one) who can't personally care for their children, but who seeks the "peace of mind" of knowing that their children's needs are being met every day.
Mooseheart Child City and School, Inc. is a special place where children in need are provided a caring community, a nurturing home, a solid education and an opportunity to reach their full potential. Moose heart is located in Illinois, just 40 miles west of Chicago.
These benefits and more are made possible by the continued support of the Moose fraternal organization and the Centreville Moose lodge. Children are never turned away for lack of finances.
Mooseheart is a full time, year-round residential childcare facility for eligible children of needy families. Children live in one of 30 residences designed like a spacious single-family residence. Each is home to six to twelve children. The children of Mooseheart live with professionally trained family teachers who provide a consistent, systematic method of care, with emphasis on social-skills development – skills essential for success in later life.
Mooseheart has truly been the gift of hope for six youngsters from a small county in Florida. I am eternally grateful for the wonderful resource that Mooseheart has become for me and my students.
