Your LOOM Board of Officers has reviewed all of the comments made at the special meeting held on August 2nd, 2012. After review, we have decided not to pursue a resolution to change the name at this time. The Board of Officers will continue to work with our Government Relations Chairman, Jim Handlon, to see if we can achieve tax exempt status with the City of Fairfax. I do not anticipate this resolution appearing again in the near future, unless it can guarantee or almost guarantee a tax exempt status.
I would personally like to thank each and every member who came to the meeting and made their opinions known. I would especially like to thank the WOTM members who attended, and the founding members who were able to make it. It was the thoughts and words of the founding members that helped us understand how important the name Centreville Moose is them, and the history of the Lodge.
