It is with deep sadness that I report to our members that our brother Matt Grove passed this morning November 11, 2011. Brother Matt Grove was our state of Virginia regional manager. He was a member of the Berryville Moose Family Center #2139. I know that Matt was a friend to many of our lodge. I know he will be missed. The family requests that no phone calls be placed to them at this time.
Matt joined the Moose in 1975 as a member of the Front Royal, Virginia lodge 829. He was an active member in his lodge and served as Governor, Jr. Governor, Prelate, and Administrator. He then transferred to the Berryville, Virginia lodge 2139. As a member of the Shenandoah Valley Moose Legion 47, Matt served the degree of service as Treasurer, East Moose, South Moose, and four years as Herder. He is an honorary past North Moose. Matt received his Fellowship degree of Honor in 1986, and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 1996.

corner of 517 Braxton Road and Manassas Ave, Front Royal, VA.
After the Pilgrim Ceremony for Brother Matt on Wednesday 11-16-2011 Front Royal Lodge #829 will be open for anyone wanting to come by and have something to eat. We are expecting the ceremony to end somewhere about 4:30-5:00pm. The Lodge will have Chicken and Meat Platters along with some side dishes. If you would like to bring something along with you please feel free. The Lodge will be open all day if you would like to drop it off early.
