Publications Committee Report

Centreville Moose Publications Committee ReportAs our lodge changes, so must everything else.  In the last newsletter, we posted on the last page a message.  The message said, "This is your Second to Last Newsletter! Unless you act now!" We are changing this because of costs to the lodge.  This is not to say we are shirking our responsibilities.  We will continue to bring our members the best paper newsletter they have come to expect.   All we ask is if you wish to continue to get our (award missing) newsletters is to let us know.  (OK, the reason an award is missing for our newsletter is because we have never actually participated in Moose International's journalism newsletter competition.  But, we feel we have one of the best newsletters in the whole fraternity anyway.) So, please rip off the back page of the newsletter and bring it to the lodge and put it in either the WOTM or LOOM boxes.  By putting the back page in the one of the boxes, it lets us know your name and address for mailing purposes.  Please do not forget to do this if you wish to continue receiving the paper newsletter.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the lodge for more information.

You might not know how much goes into putting all this information in print.  You also may not know how much information does not go in the newsletter.  We have to put the most important information in first.   Some materials doesn’t make it into the newsletter because it is already old by the time we get to print.  Sports and bowling information, poker standings, party information, some volunteering opportunities, meeting agendas, menu changes, April fools jokes, and more only make it on to the website.  If you’re interested in getting the most up to date information available for our lodge, it is imperative that you look at our website.

FYI, our website will be going through a transition in the next six months.  Please do not be surprised by the changes.  We are changing the look and feel of the website, adding more content, making it easier to find information, and formatting the site for our lodge smart phone users.  There will be a lot of time and effort spent in making these changes.  We hope that you will not notice any hiccups in the process.

As always, we want to thank all the members of our lodge for the support you show all of the publication committee and website committee members during the year.  We are all volunteers and sometimes need a bit of encouragement.  So for me personally, I thank you all for your kind words of support during the last year!
