This month brings us to our 234th year of celebrating our nation’s independence and our 122nd meeting of the Moose International’s Supreme Lodge. I will be attending our Moose national convention in Nashville, Tennessee from July first through the seventh. It is looking like a good national convention this year. I hope to bring back a lot of new knowledge and stories from the convention.
I have to say overall the lodge is doing well. Summer is a time when attendance usually goes down. This year attendance seems to be up or staying steady from previous years. The social quarters is doing well. Thanks to everyone for coming in and supporting the social quarters with your purchases. The lodge is staying busy helping our community too. This last month we managed to donate more food and clothing to area shelters and food pantries. We also donated Tommy Moose to the Centreville Fire Department for the first time ever. We also held a Bowling Banquet and an Atlantic City road trip held by our sports committee. Thanks to Steve Petty and Margret Pierson for making the AC trip run so smoothly. Thanks to Cindy Ford and Sherri Baumes for supporting the bowling league all year long!
This last month, I created a new lodge committee. Please welcome the lodge Entertainment committee. The purpose of this committee is to manage and bring in new types entertainment to the lodge. The chairperson for this committee is Luther Hodges. His committee is supported by Tom Pavlik, Bob Starkweather, Dan Sullivan, Karen Mason and Tony Tran. If you have any suggestions or recommendations please let one of these valued committee members know. We are dedicated to bringing more fun to our lodge.
I want to personally thank a few members for their support of our lodge. I would like to thank Harloe Brewster for his dedicated service as our Administrator over the last few years. As you know Harloe stepped down recently as our administrator. We are in the process of reviewing people for our administrator position. We know Harloe is not leaving our lodge, he just needs more time with Salina and his family. Thank you Harloe for all your hard work over the years! I would also like to thank Luther Hodges for his work as our Membership Chairman. Luther puts in many hours to support our lodge. Luther has been instrumental in helping us to attain our membership quotas over many years. Luther Thanks for all your support!
In conclusion, it is impossible for me to witness or hear about every act of support our members show towards this lodge, please accept my sincere thanks for all you do as individual members! You make this lodge great!
