One of the basic precepts of the Loyal Order of Moose is that "no institution that labors for self and self alone can remain great and mighty, and serve posterity."
Update (5:12 pm - 1/13/2009): Day 3 is still going. We are hearing sporadic reports on the tournament from Facebook and Text messages. Donna is made it to 28th place. Congratulations Donna!
The Moose International's debut Texas Hold'em poker tournament is off to a great start.
Day one started Monday at 10:00am with 504 players at 51 tables and played till 6:00pm. There were players from as far away as the Juneau Family Lodge #700/#439 (Mitch) and Petersburg Famly lodge #1092/#1166 (Randy) in Alaska. Mitch and Randy were some of the better players at the tournament and made it past the first day as well as a few of our players. Our lodge's Women of the Moose chapter were singled out as having the most in attendance at the tournament. The state with the most in attendance was Florida. We would like to congratulate all the players who made it to the tournament in Las Vegas.
Day two started at 10:00 am and ends with the final fifty. Only one player from the Centreville Moose Lodge is left. Donna Schroeder will be playing at 10:00am tomorrow. You have a lot of people and poker players rooting for you! The final 50 players all win a cash prizes.
Day Three: Donna Schroeder made it to the 28th place. Congratulations to Donna for making it so far in the tournament. I hear the social quarters manager and a member from the Lynchburg-South lodge were still in the money with 43 players left.
